I had an amazing time on my 3-day trip with Wildlife Adventure Safaris. I had started planning this trip a few months before, and the customer service experience along the way was excellent. The team answered questions about travel prep (i.e. getting the necessary vaccines and medication), what to pack, what to expect, etc. There were not many remaining questions I had with the materials provided and available support. I had initially planned to visit Uganda but due to travel restrictions being set if I visited Uganda, the team was extremely helpful when I requested to move my entire trip to Rwanda just a week beforehand. Day 1 involved a pickup from my hotel and a tour to Akagera National Park (Rwanda) which was my first experience on a safari! Godfrey, my guide, was on time, full of information about the National Park, the animals we were seeing, history of Rwanda, and more. Since it was just me, he also allowed me to go at my own pace on the safari. We saw 3 of the big 5, and given that it was my first taste of going on a safari, it was extremely memorable. It was such a great day! The jeep provided was also perfect for the safari (being able to stand and see animals), and water / snacks were provided which was helpful as there is not much in the national park except at certain stops. Day 2 was a trip from Kigali to Volcano National Park. After a 2.5 hour drive, which included lunch, I visited the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, a women's cooperative, and there were other activities offered. However, I was tired and decided to go to the lodge to rest before a gorilla trek in the morning. The lodge was absolutely STUNNING and the customer service was excellent. The team did a great job selecting! Day 3 was the gorilla trekking experience in the Volcano National Park. We woke up early, got registered, and then prepared for the big moment. Everything was well organized, and it was obvious from the trekkers that they knew and respected Godfrey. The overall experience was incredibly (I mean... an hour with gorillas is honestly life-changing!), although challenging. Overall, I was never left wondering what was next throughout the trip. Godfrey was helpful in explaining everything in sequence, and also happy to answer any questions I had. He also had a wealth of knowledge about the areas we were visiting, animals, country context, etc. We also had some great conversations on the road about life, Rwanda/Uganda, cultural exchange, etc. As a solo female traveller on this trip, I felt it was excellent customer service, the right pace, and extremely safe! Thanks for a great trip!
